Mammoth is enormous, immense, gigantic, and humongous with something for everyone: trails, above the tree line slopes, 3100 vertical feet and the annual snowfall has broken all records this year. Some of it may still be there next March. Mammoth has 28 lifts, 3500 acres, 15% expert, 20% advanced, 40% intermediate and 25% beginner terrain. We are staying at the same comfortable Alpenhof. There may be fancier places but none nearly as convenient to restaurants and the gondola to the Canyon base lodge just across the street. Sleep in or get up at the crack of dawn, it's your own decision. The Alpenhof has a sophisticated bar, a first class restaurant and a funky bar and hot tub in the cellar.
